LANA DEL REY – BORN TO DIE (KYLE RAPPS & DIWON REMIX)
Media darling Lana Del Rey undergoes a facelift to her exalted album titled single “Born To Die,” by the emcee/producer duo of Kyle Rapps and Diwon. Originally consisting of haunting string quartets and weighty percussion, Diwon’s production overhaul adds a sampled violin progression coupled with a “golden era” influenced drum track. Lyrically, Rapps takes a walk on the wild side with verses that detail both his drive towards success while confronting a past checkered by substance abuse. “Rap was criminal music before it got pretentious, son I’m not a profit, I just like to drop a gem inside a sentence.”
world premiere on PIGEONS & PLANES.
AZEALIA BANKS – “VAN VOGUE” (DIWON REMIX)

Azealia Banks is a great example of staying true to your grind and not giving up. Just after she played 212 for her former label, XL, they dropped her and she funded the video herself only to be called ‘the future of music’ by Kanye with shout outs by Gweneth Paltrow, now she’s at 20 million hits and changing the hip hop game. Diwon gives her Van Vogue single an freak out remix.

CHICKEN & RICE BAKE WITH SPINACH:
The heat of summer is hitting us full blast! I’m hot and sweaty and the last thing I want to do is turn the oven on or have to stand in front of the stove for a long time. This recipe is quick and easy at it’s best. It’s a one pot dish that makes for a flavorful dinner with an easy cleanup. I like ginger however if you don’t simply keep it out and replace it with your favorite spices.

Ingredients:
1 small onion, diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups chopped spinach (I use frozen)
1 cup of rice, raw not yet cooked
2 cups of vegetable or chicken broth
4 pieces of chicken breast, cut into small pieces
Salt, pepper, garlic, and ginger to season with
Directions:
Saute onions with olive oil in a large pot until golden. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and ginger. Add the chicken pieces and cook until no longer pink. Add rice, broth and spinach to the pot. Cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed.

1 tsp. ginger powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Ingredients for Serving:
Buns, whole wheat bread or lettuce
Sweet chili sauce
Hoisin Sauce
MANGO CORN SALAD
Directions:
Combine the chicken, scallions, cilantro, panko crumbs, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, chilli pepper, ginger powder & garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Shape 4 – 6 patties (depending on how large you want them) You can either broil, bake or grill the patties. I used a grill pan with some oil heated on it and grilled the patties until cooked through. Serve over toasted bun, bread or on a bed of lettuce if you want to keep it low carb! I topped mine with some hoisin sauce and chilli sauce with a serving of MANGO CORN SALAD.

Moment of silence at Olympic ceremony could embarrass Israel

A moment of silence at the Olympic ceremony could, I fear, embarrass Israel. It’s no secret that the International Olympic Committee does not want to ‘politicize’ this issue even more. Holding a minute of silence for Israelis murdered in cold blood by Palestinian terrorists – the way we see it, or Israeli men of military age killed by Palestinian freedom fighters – as much of the Muslim and Arab world sees it – will politicize the opening ceremony to the extreme. We will be accused of exploiting the ceremony for propaganda purposes. We call it commemoration, the world will call it propaganda.
Let’s face it folks, Israel is not loved abroad. You knew that, right? It’s not loved amongst British people, it’s not loved amongst European people, it’s not loved amongst most African and Asian nations, and it is certainly loathed amongst Muslim and Arab nations. If a moment of silence were to be held at the Olympic stadium tonight, where not just Americans, Canadians, Australians and Micronesians are in attendance, chances are quite good that our minute of silence will not be fully respected. Chances are quite good even that it could be disrespected, even booed. And if that happened, if the minute of silence for Israel’s 11 murdered athletes were booed, what have we achieved? We, as Israelis, will just feel disheartened, disgusted, upset. How would we feel if we saw, actually saw, just how few friends we actually have in the world? READ MORE
